Abstract:
Detection procedures of distant objects in powerful radars are considered. The first part deals with the problem of signal detection by a heterogeneous antenna array. An optimal detection procedure is proposed and compared with the traditional detection rule that does not take heterogeneities in account. The effectiveness of both procedures is analyzed. Conditions in which the suboptimal procedure can be used are derived in parallel with the conditions in which the use of this procedure results in significant losses. The second part of the article considers signal detection in the conditions of a long-term coherent accumulation. Detection characteristics are investigated as functions of small errors of equipment. Conditions in which the presence of these errors must be taken into account are pointed out.
