Abstract:
The effect of dispersion distortions appeared due to propagation through the ionosphere on matched filtration of ultra-wideband signals of L-range and formation of radar images in long-range radars is analyzed. It is shown that, during maximum of solar activity, dispersion distortions can significantly distort the received signal, and processing matched to the radiated signal may appear to be
far from optimal. The residual error mitigating the effect of ionosphere required to satisfactorily correct of the dispersion distortions is estimated.
