Production technology of macrocyclic polyether dibenzo-18-crown-6 - multipurpose effective reagent

Abstract:
Mass production of crown ethers is necessary for confirm the results of the successful test extraction technology for processing imitation liquid radioactive waste in the real solutions. The producing method of selective extract ant radionuclide Sr dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) which have a great interestin solving practical problems, including separation of metals from complex composite systems in the nuclear, mining-and-chemical industries was developed. The technology was based on a one-step process of interaction the catechol with dichloride diethylene glycol in alkaline(KOH),isopropyl alcohol was used as a solvent. The intermediate andby-products were investigated by gas-liquid chromatography. The optimumreaction timeandmolar ratio ofreactants were determined for maximum yield of the product. It was shown, in the first stage of the reaction polukraun-diol wasthe intermediate product in conditions of excessive amount of diethylene glycol dichloride compared to catechol. Subsequently, 1,2 -bis [2-(2-chloroethoxy) ethoxy] benzene formedas the intermediateproductin the presence of excessive amount diethylene glycol dichloride.
