Application of metamaterials for creating of multibeam nano-antenna

Abstract:
In recent years metamaterials with negative permittivity and low-loss are actively developed. These materials allow to reduce the reactance of electrically small antennas and increase radiated power. The perspective direction of antenna area development includes of advantages of classical mirror antennas and low-size nano-antennas. Example of advantages is a design of hybrid mirror antennas with feed array on the basis of nano-element for enhancement of aperture efficiency of dish. In present article the increase of aperture efficiency of hybrid mirror antenna with feed array is estimated on the basis of cavity slot spherical radiating element [1]. The array feed is synthesized by given a radiation pattern to estimate the increase of aperture efficiency. Synthesis is done by following limits: the elements interference is discarded; diameter of feed less than 10% of diameter of dish. Synthesis is carried out by gradient method in Matlab 6.0 for higher and lower frequency limits of frequency band. Rated by model the aperture efficiency of proposed hybrid mirror antenna in 20% bandwidth is more than 0,8. Surface of feed is used by only 3,8% that give to append element that work on an orthogonal polarizations or expand bandwidth.
