Abstract:
For a numerical investigation of the effect of the flux density of heating concentrated radiation of СО2 laser on the formation of temperature field in the process of heating and melting of a plane layer of alumina (Al2O3), the software capable to model this process was created. This software consist of two parts: the first one, doing all the calculation based on input data of thermophysical and optical properties of the heated material and parameters of the heating process, and the second part serving for the purpose of viewing and manipulating of obtained calculation results. All calculation results initially get stored in binary file consisting of data describing temperature state of the system on all steps of time integration. Then, using aforementioned software, one can view and save calculation results in appropriate form (text or graphic). One of the features of this software is to display dynamically changing temperature distribution graphs for observing the changes in temperature distribution not only in real time but also slowed down or speeded up: each moment you can pause it and use current temperature distribution as an output. This feature was provided to simplify the search of the most suitable time moment for studying heating process. For the purpose of best visualization and understanding of the results while using them in various sorts of presentations it was suggested to develop a solution for demonstrating animated temperature distribution graphs within Microsoft Power Point. After comparing possible ways of solving the problem it was decided to take advantage of ActiveX framework to construct a control capable of displaying needed animated graphs. The control was designed in such way to ensure the highest possible ergonomic within presentations. For better usability an installation system for ActiveX control was developed allowing automatic setup on personal computer, maintaining up to date version of the control and ensuring clean uninstall.
