Abstract:

Due to the specifics of MESH or MESH networks, namely decentralization, self-organization and interaction of nodes directly, there is a need for constant improvement of devices of nodes of such networks to improve the quality of communication and increase the fault-tolerance, since MESH networks are used precisely in systems with increased requirement of survivability. In the case of MESH networks of mobile radio communication, increased requirements are put forward to the radio engineering devices of nodes due to functioning in difficult interference, climatic and other environments, mobility of nodes, distance between them. Consequently, the antennas of MESH mobile radio networks must provide reliable and stable connections for subscribers, and it can be concluded from the experience of military conflicts that the current antenna solutions require improvement. This article proposes antenna solutions for MESH networks based on antenna arrays with two polarizations. The measured and calculated frequency characteristics of the VSWR and radiation patterns of the developed arrays are presented.

Despite significant progress in the field of multiband and multipath antennas, the development of a compact bipolarized antenna array for mobile radio MESH nodes remains an urgent task. The key difficulties are related to the need to ensure the stability of directional characteristics in a wide operating band and the stability of matching parameters under changing placement conditions. Modern solutions are often focused on either fixed access points or narrowband applications, which limits their applicability in a rapidly changing MESH environment.

In this article, a bipolarized microwave antenna array designed for terminals of wireless MESH networks of mobile radio communication systems is proposed and investigated. The results of electrodynamic modeling of microwave antenna arrays in various designs are presented.

Models of antenna solutions for MESH networks based on antenna arrays with multiple polarizations for different ranges are proposed. The frequency characteristics of VSWR and radiation patterns of the developed lattice models are presented. For a bipolarized PIFA array and half-wave radiators, the frequency dependence of the gain of both polarizations is presented.
