Abstract:

It is known that the performance characteristics of antenna systems containing metasurfaces are highly dependent on the scattering characteristics of these metasurfaces. Therefore, the problem of determining the scattering properties of metasurfaces consisting of various types of elements is highly important and relevant. The aim of the research is determine the scattering characteristics of electromagnetic waves by metasurfaces constructed from varying numbers of flat helical elements excited by various methods. The effective radar cross sections (RCS) of metasurfaces constructed from varying numbers of flat helical elements excited by a plane linearly polarized wave were calculated. The radiation patterns (RP) of a vibrator located near the metasurface were calculated. The use of metasurfaces can significantly improve the performance of antenna systems near resonant frequencies.
