Abstract:

Problem Statement. Тhe problem of quickly determining the location of a ground source by analyzing the signal it emits is highly relevant. One of the most effective solutions involves the use of the difference-ranging method (DRM), which is based on the distribution of the moments of reception of the emitted signal at three separate points in space.

The advantages of this method include:

rapid decision-making – based on the reception of a single pulse;

the design of the receiving equipment significantly ensures that only the moment of pulse reception is ensured.

The solution to the problem must be unconditional, operational, and easily implemented using simple computational tools.

Objective. To develop an algorithm for quickly determining the location of a ground source of an emitted signal using the difference-ranging method and analytical calculations.

Result. An analytical calculation algorithm based on the RDM of the coordinates of a ground-based radiated source (RES) based on the measurement of the reception times of the same emitted pulse at three separate points in space has been developed, described, and validated.

Practical significance. The developed algorithm can be applied and implemented in airborne and home passive radio surveillance systems.
