Abstract:

This study examines the issues of ensuring the strength of the connection between the housing and the cover of the receiving and transmitting modules (TRM) when they are sealed by adhesive sealing, soldering or welding. For each of the sealing methods under consideration, expressions were obtained that make it possible, based on data on the overall dimensions of the module cover and the height of the sealing seam (adhesive, soldered, welded), to calculate the amount of mechanical stress created in the sealing seam by an inert gas pumped into the inner volume of the TRM under excessive pressure.

Based on the results of the analysis of the strength of the connection between the housing and the lid, constructive solutions have been proposed to ensure the required strength of the connection between the housing and the lid by reducing the area used by the sealing lid. In order to reduce the area of the sealing cap used, it is proposed to use a two-way arrangement of microelectronic equipment in the TRM housings, thereby significantly reducing the length and width of the TRM body and lid, or to switch to designs in which several such covers are used instead of one common sealing cap.

Based on the results of the analysis of the strength of the connection between the lid and the housing during sealing of the TRM, a technique is proposed to ensure the strength of the connection between the housing and the lid of the TRM during its sealing, which minimizes the mass and dimensional characteristics of the module under development.
