Switched-mode generators (SMG) are widely used in radio enginee ring and power electronics to form high-power harmonic oscillations. At the same time, it must be taken into consideration th at this mode of operation is originally nonlinear and its appli cation leads to the need for special measures for higher harmonics attenuation in the output voltage spectrum to an acceptable level. An effective method for solving this problem is to form a multi -level voltage, the parameters o f which can be determined eithe r by the criterion of minimizing the total harmonic distortion, or b ased on the condition of full compensation for a given set of h armonics. It should be kept in mind that the error in setting angular par ameters of the steps, which appears due to the spread of transi stor parameters, reduces the effectiveness of this method, and leads t o the preservation of a sufficiently high level of harmonics in the output voltage spectrum, which ultimately does not allow lowering the filter order. To overcome th is negative effect, it is propo sed to use pre-distortion of transistor control pulses. It follows the research, instead of fine-tuning all bridge inve rters, it is possible to introduce pre-distortion only in a rel atively small group, about 20% of the total number, in order to reduce the level of higher harmonics by 5−20 dB.
