Abstract:

The noise figure of the receiving channel is one of the technical characteristics that determines the range of the radar station. In order to calculate the real potential of the radar station, it is necessary to measure the noise figure of both the through-the-hole receiving channel and the first stage, the low-noise amplifier (LNA), with a given accuracy. Due to the specific features of the design, the receiving part of an active phased array antenna (AESA) is an LNA that is distributed across the aperture of the antenna array. Its value mainly determines the total noise figure of the through-channel receiver of the AESA radar.
