Abstract:

Problem statement. Counterweights are an integral part of an asymmetrical antenna vibrator. The proportion of power consumed by losses in the ground in the near zone of the antenna depends on its design and mass-dimensional characteristics. One of the problems faced by developers when designing antennas with optimal parameters is to take into account the effect of finite earth conductivity on the efficiency of asymmetric HF band antennas.

Purpose. To consider the possibility of developing effective methods for analyzing the underlying surface for a HF band antenna element.

Results. The effects of various types of underlying surfaces on the effectiveness of asymmetric vibrators are considered and analyzed. During the analysis, it was found out that the device and the size of the counterweight significantly affect the KND and SWR of the antenna. The influence of the underlying surface in non-symmetrical vibrators on the system characteristics was also analyzed. The simulation results showed that the underlying surfaces of metallic mesh and radial metal beams in the amount of 72 pieces give the same result.

Practical significance. The proposed algorithm can be used to solve most problems when selecting the underlying surface for antenna elements of various ranges.
