Abstract:

The problem of determining the location (DL) of a radio emission source (RES) can be solved using various systems and methods. One of such systems is a passive geolocation system, which includes several relay satellites (RS), several reference RESs and a post - device that receives signals, carries out their correlation processing and determines the time of signal propagation. Reference RES is RES whose location is known, but the emitted signal and the time of its emission are unknown, which significantly complicates the processing of received signals and makes it impossible to use the TOA method to clarify the location of the RS. Therefore, TDOA method is used to adjust the coordinates of the RS, which makes it impossible to adjust the coordinates of one (reference) of them. For DL of the RES, in turn, the TDOA method is also used. The operation of such a system consists of two stages. At the first stage, it is necessary to adjust the coordinates of all RSs using reference RESs. The second stage is directly the DL of the RES according to the specified RSs coordinates. This paper proposes algorithms for adjustment the RS coordinates using one, two and three reference RESs for the TDOA method.

Goal. Investigation of the effectiveness of algorithms for adjustment the location of RS using reference sources.

Results. The presented algorithms make it possible to significantly increase the accuracy of DL of the RES. At the same time, they are inferior in accuracy to similar algorithms using ground stations.

Practical significance. It is advisable to use the presented algorithms for adjustment the RS coordinates, if there are reference RES in the geolocation system.
