Abstract:

The aim of the work is to develop a method for calibrating subsurface sensing radars, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the volume of experiments and calibrate the radar by processing data obtained from a single probe of the environment. The radar uses a stepwise frequency modulation (SFM) signal as a probe.

As a result of the work carried out, a calibration algorithm was obtained, which is based on the search for the components of the calibration vector according to the criterion of minimum entropy of the image of a given area of the probed medium. The number of components of the calibration vector is equal to the number of discrete frequencies of the SFM-signal.

The developed method can be used to calibrate subsurface sensing radars.
