Abstract:

The article develops an approach to overcome terminological confusion in scientific and dissertation research in technical sciences.

Target. Terms and concepts clarification of scientific and dissertation research results in technical sciences based on a system approach.

Results. System analysis of scientific research concepts and corresponding terms made it possible to construct scientific knowledge hierarchy and determine the area of dissertation research typical results: for candidate's dissertation - model, methodology; for doctoral dissertation - methodology, method and technique.

Practical significance. Scientific knowledge visual hierarchy is useful for researchers to determine significance and formulate their results.
