The accuracy of determining the location of radio sources is influenced by many factors, which leads to distortions and errors in calculating their coordinates. One of these factors is the need to project the Earth's surface onto some relative surface. The development of a method for determining the location of radio sources that takes into account the geodetic model of the Earth without projecting it onto a relative surface is an urgent scientific task.
A study has been conducted on the possibility of using a geocentric coordinate system to determine the location of radio emission sources using the angular method. A method has been developed for calculating the coordinates of a radio emission source in a geocentric coordinate system based on solving a system of equations of position surfaces using the Newton-Gauss method. It has been established that the developed method makes it possible to reduce the actual linear error in determining the location of the radio source by taking into account the geodetic model of the Earth.
The practical implementation of the proposed method for calculating coordinates in a geocentric coordinate system makes it possible to reduce the actual linear error in determining the location of the radio source.
