Abstract:

Formulation of the problem. One of the tasks solved in the design of the receiving and transmitting modules (TRM) of active phased array antenna (APAA), is the development of a housing operating under excessive pressure of a protective gas environment, while the connections of the components of the housing must be sealed with the necessary degree of tightness.

A compound with an indium seal has a number of advantages compared to an elastomer seal and a solder joint.

Indium seals of detachable joints are widely used in vacuum systems. The design requirements for the TRM housings differ significantly from the requirements for the elements of vacuum technology.

The possibility of borrowing well-known technical solutions for a new field of application requires experimental testing.

Target. Determination of the main design parameters of the connection on samples of body parts, development of installation technology, tests for leakage intensity and resistance to operational influences, prediction of the time of excess pressure retention.

Results. The main design parameters of the buildings are presented.

The compaction pressing mode is defined. The achievable degree of tightness has been determined. The analytical dependence of the conservation of excess pressure on time is derived. The operational loads causing deterioration of the sealing properties have been determined.

Practical significance. The experimental data and analytical expressions obtained can be used in the design of enclosures, quality control of the seal assembly and planning of module maintenance regulations.
