Abstract:

In this paper, an approach based on the application of optimal pulse to a SEFDM-signal with a trellis-based demodulator to improve the bit-error ratio (BER) of SEFDM-signals with higher-order modulation on subcarriers and large number of subcarriers in a symbol through fading channels is propose. BER performances of SEFDM-signals with QAM-4, QAM-16, QAM-64 modulations through the AWGN channel at different values of compression factor and different numbers of subcarriers in the symbol are analyzed. The BER performances of SEFDM-signals with using optimal pulse at QAM-4, QAM-16 are improved in comparison with traditional SEFDM-signals. The BER performances of SEFDM-signals with using optimal pulse improve when the number of subcarriers in the symbol increases. The BER performances of SEFDM-signals with QAM-16 modulation in LTE channels with zero and maximum Doppler shift at various compression coefficients are presented. The BER performances of SEFDM-signals with utilizing optimal pulse in fading channels are improved in comparison with traditional SEFDM-signals.
