Statement of the problem. When building systems for managing the quality of the transmission heterogeneous information in multiservice networks of information collection and processing systems, there is a need to assess the effectiveness of queue management mechanisms for protocol data blocks (packets). At the same time, well-known private indicators of traffic management quality are focused on telecommunications services prevailing in the communication channel and do not provide comparison of the equal conditions mechanisms of active packet queue management (AQM), taking into account the hardware costs of their implementation in the marshaled nodes of geographically distributed security systems.
Goal. Develop and test tools for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of AQM mechanisms in systems for collecting and processing information of geographically distributed security systems.
Results. Comprehensive indicators and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of mechanisms and the quality of packet queue management are proposed, which differ from those known by weighted average estimates of particular indicators of the quality of telecommunication services and the computational costs of routing nodes for managing an aggregated traffic flow.
Theoretical significance. The developed toolkit makes it possible to perform a comprehensive assessment of AQM mechanisms in terms of the quality and efficiency of packet queue management, taking into account the computational costs for their implementation in telecommunication networks of information collection and processing systems.
Practical significance. The use of the developed apparatus at the stage of designing a communication network allows a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of the applied packet queue management mechanisms.
