Abstract:

Articulation of the problem. Protection of air assets by means of active towed radar decoys (hereinafter referred to as ATRD).

Objective. To present an approach to building the ATRD, their application tactics, and an evaluation of their basic specifications.

Results. This paper presents the ATRD design concept, application tactics, as well as the principles of operation due to which the carrier protection is arranged. The formulas for calculating the basic specifications of ATRD are given and the efficiency at different values of their parameters is evaluated.

Practical significance. Improvement of aircraft survivability when counteracting air-launched guided missiles and SAMS anti-aircraft guided missiles fitted with radar seekers by generating a jamming signal from a remote point.
