Abstract:

The physical nature and definition of the complex unit polarization vector of the receiving antenna are refined. Substantiated are the alternating dependences of the parameters of the polarization ellipses of the receiving and transmitting antennas on the coordinate systems used and the a priori specified limits for changing the parameters of the polarization ellipse of the antennas, which ensure the uniqueness of determining the coefficient of matching of the receiving and transmitting antennas by polarization. In a systematic way, formulas are presented for calculating the matching coefficients for the impedance of receiving and transmitting antennas with different structures, characterized by the connection of the antenna to the load with or without the use of a feeder line. The obtained expressions for calculating the polarization coefficient and the impedance matching coefficients of the receiving and transmitting antennas provide an unambiguous definition of the “end-to-end” radio signal power transfer coefficient between two arbitrary antennas of arbitrary polarization according to the ideal radio transmission formulas.
