Abstract:

The existing methods of locating radio emission sources from a single point, based on a priori data on the power of the emitted signal for an Earth radio wave and the predicted height of the reflecting layer of the ionosphere for a spatial radio wave, have low accuracy. In this regard, the development of new angle-rangefinder methods based on data on the characteristics of the radio wave front has theoretical and practical significance in solving the problems of location determination. A new angle-rangefinder method for determining the location of the source of radio radiation by a surface wave in the HF band is proposed. The relations for determining the phase parameters of the front of the surface electromagnetic wave in the HF range in relation to a circular antenna system are obtained. The practical implementation of a new angle-rangefinder method based on measuring the parameters of the radio wave front allows determining the location of the radio emission source in the HF band with sufficient accuracy.
