Abstract:

Radiation characteristics of planar ultrawideband dipole antennas with unconventional feed circuit in comparison with the classical symmetric dipole, is considered. A few variants of such antennas with different form of arms along with its standing-wave ratio are given. In the absence of absorbing material in the design of such antennas, the bandwidth of its frequency overlap band over the range of more than 10:1 under SWR criterion. Other characteristics as antenna pattern and gain are experimentally investigated for one dipole this type, named corner antenna. It is revealed a significant feature if this antenna as for polarization behavior and gain in presence of a conductive plane. The gain is measured as by two identical antenna method, so substitution method in different conditions. Gain values, determined by this two methods is well correlated with each other in frequency band 1…18 GHz. Derived results allow to hope what a proposed dipole antennas is competitive element for ultrawideband informative system, mobile communication system or other spheres of their practical application.
