Based on the analytical solution of the internal boundary-value problem of electrodynamics, an analysis of the electrodynamic properties of the H-types of waves of a rectangular waveguide with a dielectric plate located near the side wall using the longitudinal X-polarization of the electromagnetic field. Dispersion equations are obtained that allow one to determine the intrinsic electrodynamic parameters of a given waveguide. The modes of propagation of fast and slow waves are considered. It is shown that, when a fast wave passes into a slow wave, a change in the structure of the field of the main wave at which the heat treatment is carried out is observed, while a greater power is allocated in the plate – Рпог than in the fast wave mode, which leads to an intensification of the heat treatment process.
