The development of algorithm of automatic identification of vocoder types based on structural features of digital streams of coded speech messages is possible if the algorithm of automatic determination of period values by correlation values calculated using adapted expressions is implemented. The problematic issue in the solution of the mentioned task is the choice of the selection method of maxima and analysis of the selected values of the maxima positions of calculated correlation values.
To establish theoretically the possibility of accounting of period values of digital streams on the basis of correlation values made by using mathematic expressions from the part «Statistics» and chosen by using the selection methods of maxima.
The study of correlation values obtained as a result of the analysis of digital streams of encoded speech messages using adapted expressions for calculating correlation values. To determine the values of the periods of digital streams based on the analysis of correlation values, methods of selecting maxima by the number and relative threshold value are proposed. The selection of maxima by number consists in the selection of a certain number of calculated correlation values with the highest heights. In the process of analyzing periodic digital streams, a strict arrangement of the correlation values is noted, which follow each other, as a rule, at equal intervals, that is, through an equal number of non-quasiperiodic correlation values corresponding to the period value of the analyzed digital stream. The selection of the maxima by the relative threshold value consists in the selection of the calculated correlation values with heights exceeding a certain threshold value. In this case, the threshold value must be selected so that the heights of most quasiperiodic correlation values exceed the selected threshold value, and the heights of most non-quasiperiodic correlation values do not exceed the selected threshold value. The intervals between the position values of the selected correlation values are used to calculate the period value of the digital stream. It is proposed to use the verification procedure for the calculated value of the period, based on the implementation of the training procedure using training samples as examples of digital streams of encoded speech messages.
From the obtained results of the theoretical study it follows that the proposed methods of selection of maxima allow the selection of parameters to accurately determine the values of periods of digital streams of coded speech messages.
