A method for increasing the operational accuracy of direction finding of radio emission sources by modern radio monitoring systems is proposed. Radiomonitoring complexes are equipped with phase and correlation interferometric direction-finders. Radiomonitoring complexes operate in urban areas, characterized by significant nonstationarity and irregularity of radiation patterns of direction finding antenna arrays. Improving the accuracy of direction finding is achieved by introducing an amplitude and phase component and weighting factors into the direction-finding characteristic of each pair of radiators of the direction-finding antenna array. Weighting coefficients redistribute the contribution of the amplitude component to the total direction-finding characteristic of the antenna system depending on SNR at the outputs of the radiators of the direction-finding antenna array in the process of direction finding. The tests of the proposed method showed that the operational accuracy of direction finding when used in the conditions considered increases by an average of two times compared with known methods or leads to a decrease in the relative energy level of the acceptable direction finding error by 5−6 dB.
