Abstract:

The study of the influence of the positioning factor of receiving points on the accuracy of the difference-ranging method for position determination a source of radio emission shows that, under conditions of compact arrangement of remote receiving points, errors in the values of the parameters x0 and α0, which determine the position of the center of the receiving points, have a much smaller effect on the accuracy of the position determination compared to errors in the values of the parameters ρ and φ, which determine the position of the receiving points relative to their center.

The results of a theoretical study of ways to build a passive radar system with the minimum allowable number of reception points and check points allow us to conclude that, given the compact location of remote reception points, the task of locating a radio source on a prominent position line can be solved using two receiving and two checking points, used to clarify the parameters that define the position of reception points relative to their center. Such a radar system turns out to be insensitive to the positioning factor of receiving points.
