The possibilities of realization Wi-Fi access points integrated into the existing elements of the urban infrastructure, in particular, in cable ducts, are considered. Conducted theoretical and experimental studies. The possibility and prospects of the organization of a Wi-Fi network based on the existing cable ducts using low-profile antennas placed directly on the dielectric cover are justified. The possibilities of realization Wi-Fi access points (AP) integrated into the existing elements of the urban infrastructure, in particular, in cable ducts, are considered.
The corresponding theoretical and experimental research has been carried out. Two types of AFD were investigated: a vertical twostory collinear (imitation of a standard AFD) and a low-profile type PIFA. Were calculated radiation patterns of the antennas, the dependence of the field strength on the distance to the antennas, and the VSWR of the antennas.
According to the results of the conducted research, it is possible to consider as reasonable the possibility and perceptivity of the Wi-Fi networking based on the existing cable ducts. At the same time, in order to ensure the best performance, including operational ones, for AP, it is advisable to use low-profile antennas integrated into a module separate from the AP and placed directly on the dielectric hatch cover.
