Abstract:

The article presents the detection zone estimation method for spot magnetic intrusion sensor with the split site primary unit for door aperture monitoring. The method is based on a numerical simulation technique. For the main parameter to be estimated the mean time to false alarm was assumed. A number of sensing primary units and aperture dimensions were widely varied.

In the article detection zone estimation method for spot magnetic intrusion sensor with split site primary unit for door aperture monitoring is presented. The method involves numerical simulations resulting into database containing a broad range of intruder signals. For the main parameter to be estimated the mean time to false alarm is assumed. Number of sensing primary units and aperture dimensions can be widely varied. Automation technique using control flow chart is developed. The validation results for several door aperture dimensions in case of dual position split site primary unit show mean time to false alarm of about 1100 hours for aperture monitoring of doors with overall dimensions up to 2.5 m high and 4 m wide.
