Abstract:

The possibility of reducing the integral noise in TWT due to the use of electron guns with a converging electron beam and a cathode partially shielded from the magnetic field is considered. Calculations of electron beams formed by guns with complete and partial screening from the magnetic field and accompanied by MPFS are carried out.

The magnetic field at the cathode has an inverse sign in comparison with the magnetic field in the first cell of the MPFS.

A decrease in the integrated noise power due to partial shielding of the cathode from the magnetic field is shown in comparison with the total screening.
