Abstract:

The use of adaptive nonlinear processing in the detection of weak signals in the background noise allows us to take into account both the probability density function of the noise and change in sensitivity of amplitude characteristics of the nonlinear block (NLB) to a current mismatch. This paper presents the algorithms for adaptive nonlinear signal processing of tracking meters implemented using the adaptive NLB (ANLB) with quadrature generators (QG) in the feedback circuit. Their work under the influence of broadband noise and narrow-band noise according to the criterion of maximum noise reduction ratio (NRR) is analyzed. Structural diagrams of ANLB are given, including the case of multi-dimensional implementation of QG; the results of mathematical modeling are presented. The limitations of the dynamic range of ANLB with QG are analyzed; in this case, the maximum noise reduction will be achieved, no matter what limitations on real operating elements within the mentioned range are imposed. It is shown that the purpose of the ANLB is to achieve the maximum NRR and to continuously control it when the probabilistic properties of influencing noise are changed or in the presence of some external disturbances.
