Abstract:

The object of the research is the characteristics of passive and active antenna arrays (AA) with arbitrary aperture field distribution, analyzed by means of their noise factors comparison, which are calculated with respect to AA with random cophasal distribution of field amplitude aperture. The expression, determining the gain in the noise factor of an active AA over passive AA, was obtained. The quantitative gain in the energy potential of a single-position radar with active AA and an independent radiation pattern formation for both signal reception and transmission.
