Abstract:

A methodology for estimating the statistical characteristics of errors in the measurement of the arrival time of the radar signal on the radio monitoring equipment in the presence of trans reflections from the earth's surface is developed. With its use it is established that for typical ground radar application conditions, the errors in measuring the time of arrival of a signal can reach 0,4…0,6 μs, and the corresponding errors in measuring the radar coordinates - from hundreds meters to kilometers.
