Abstract:

The article was prepared for the 100th anniversary of JSC «Fazotron-NIIR» Corporation. It reviews the development of airborne radar systems (ARS) fighter aircraft in the past, present and future. The article draws attention to milestones in the development of multifunctional ARS of fighter aircraft during their evolutionary development. Development of AESA radar is selected as the focus area. Based on AESA the major trends of commonality of multifunctional are shown. It is stressed that development of AESA at the present stage is possible only on the basis of the comprehensive approach and association of several companies. This approach plays an impotent role in the development of integrated avionic systems – radar, electronic intelligence (ELINT) and electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems.
