Abstract:

Analysis of ground radar targets and their orientation relative to the radar shows that a significant contribution to the reflected signal energy making local scattering sites, as well as the presence of the underlying surface. Availability of «air – the earth» demarcation boundary leads to emergence of two mutually crossed lit areas, the first of which is caused by the direct wave, and the second – a wave reflected from the land surface. Considered method of calculation takes into account the presence of radar absorbing coatings on smooth areas and crevices of the object surface.
