Angular superresolution of multiple targets monopulse radar with a matrix phased array by polynomial method

Abstract:
It is proposed a new method of forming the measurement of angular coordinates of an arbitrary number of point of closely spaced targets on digital linear measurements equidistant phased array antenna. 2N rays with identical sum pattern and phase centers located at equal distances from each other are formed on the each measuring planes (vertical and azimuthal). It was shown that the angular coordinates of targets can be found by solving the equations of degree N with complex coefficients. The coefficients of the polynomial function on the left side of this equation can be expressed analytically in terms of the measurement charts.
It is substantiated the method of calculating the accuracy of the measurement of angular coordinates and the criterion of targets res-olution. Instantiation made of the proposed method for the case of 2-D and 3 point goals.
The method is designed to measure multiple target angular coordinates, elevation low-flying targets against the background of the underlying surface (sea or earth), to measure the coordinates of targets in conditions of active jamming.
