Abstract:
We studied the algorithms for the estimation of the amplitude of the rectangular radio pulse with unknown initial phase and moments of appearance and disappearance. We synthesized the quasi-likelihood estimation algorithm, where some expected values of the initial phase and the moments of appearance and disappearance are used instead of the appropriate unknown parameters. We also synthesized the quasi-likelihood estimation algorithm with the adaptation to the initial phase and the maximum likelihood estimation algorithm with the adaptation to all the unknown parameters. The block diagrams were proposed for obtaining the required estimates. We analyzed the introduced algorithms and found the asymptotically exact (with increasing a signal-to-noise ratio) expressions for biases and variances of the considered amplitude estimates. The influence of a priori ignorance was studied of the initial phase and the moments of appearance and disappearance on the accuracy of the amplitude estimate. And we determined the quantitative characteristics of loss in accuracy of the amplitude estimate due to a priori ignorance of the radio signal initial phase and moments of appearance and disappearance.
