Overview of error-correcting coding of digital data communucation systems

Abstract:
The coding system is used in almost all modern digital communication systems. Its main purpose - to increase reliability of the transmitted information. Error-correcting coding is based on the deliberate introduction of redundant information in the data message transmitted with a view to the possibility of detecting and correcting errors recipient information.
The article describes the main characteristics and classification of error-correcting codes. To date, among other codes among the most efficient and practical use error-correcting codes and turbo codes are low density parity check.
The above article overview of error-correcting codes has shown that the development of a digital communication system, entailing a decrease in the number of errors, as well as the ever-increasing volumes of information transmitted open up broad prospects for further implementation and use of error-correcting codes. However, the high computational complexity of modern error-correcting codes decoding algorithms require significant hardware resources, or as a consequence have to use extremely expensive hardware or to go to the simplification of the algorithms that can lead to some deterioration in performance. Therefore now is the urgent task of developing methods and tools that enhance the performance error-correcting codes.
