Abstract:
Results of mathematical simulation and comparative analysis of dispersion characteristics of planar infinitely extended leaky wave structures with H- and E polarization, containing a two-layer dielectric waveguide on a metal screen and a one-dimensionally periodic array of metal strips are presented. Dispersion characteristics are calculated using mathematical models, based on the method of partial areas with the expansion of the surface electric current density on the strips. Practical application of the results, obtained for the particular case of a single-layer structure, is illustrated by examples of the design of leaky wave antenna arrays of UHF band.
