Abstract:
Advanced radar systems (RS) deployed by technically developed countries feature high conflict resistance achieved by an adaptive control in their performances (parameters of signals, operating modes, ECCM schemes, etc.) and combining separate radars into spaced radar systems. For a single radar case such management of parameters is well considered in the known literature, however, as applied to a networking radar system (NRS) built up by individual radar units and having a number of distinguished features, these issues have not been sufficiently covered in a systematic way. Time balance equation for the networking radar system allows describing functionality in a unified methodological approach and substantiating strategies of control over such systems. However, it is required to further elaborate the time balance equation for the NRS to reveal correlations between the parameters of its subsystems and those of external environment within the constraints of an optimal management strategy. With all the above considered, this paper offers theoretical and practical interest. The objective of this paper consists in the development of the analytical relationships showing correlation between the parameters of NRS subsystems and those of the external environment in the constraints of its time balance equation with optimal (reasonable) allo-cation of time resource among various operating modes. To achieve the objective three tasks are solved by this paper: Development of a logical-probabilistic algorithm for a NRS functioning during handling target flow affected by jamming. Development of analytical relationships showing the correlation between the parameters of NRS subsystems and those of the external environment in the constraints of its time balance equation. And parametric estimate of gain in effectiveness of the system operation with adaptive control in its characteristics. The suggested logical-and-probabilistic algorithm for a NRS operation has a quite clear physical interpretation since it fully conforms to its functional characteristics as an object of control, and determines the succession of carrying out certain system control procedures at every step of its functioning, the basic ones of which are as follows: Estimates of jamming environment parameters including determination of quantity and spatial coordinates of jamming sources, event of jamming in the main lobe of the beam pattern, types and parameters of jamming techniques in the bandwidth of SRS receiving elements. Application of ECCM schemes that reduce interference level (noise cancellers and pulse jamming blank-out units, de-cluttering MTI selection, etc.). Choice of reasonable NRS characteristics including signal parameters and RF sensor data processors (detection thresholds, digital criteria of lock-on/break-out, etc.). Adoption of special ECCM techniques (particularly, angle strobe gating, leading edge tracking) and operation modes (burn-through, jammer source direction finding, passive-correlation processing, etc.). Queuing requests and handling request queues pertain to their priorities and time resource allocated. It is shown that time cost minimum for handling the targets is appropriate to be used as a main criterion for optimization. Analytical relationships are obtained for estimation of controlled parameters of the radar system and the resultant gain in the system time resource with signal parameters under control. The estimates are carried out based on the simulation that has established the following: Control in NRS signal parameters with account for target range and jamming environment ensures gain (saving) of the system time resource, the value of which approximates to the number of the targets being handled. Increase in target range change and search sectors factors more than 0.6 - 0.7 yields slight growth in time resource gain. An efficient number of range gradations during handling targets is not more than 4 (relative to maximum operating range) since further range interval reduction does not yield the growth of time resource gain. In the conclusion it is noticed, that algorithm of management of a networking radar system in the basic operating modes, unlike Ma-nagements single RS, are assumed by definition on each cycle of search of such element of system which provides minimum time of the reference to the targets, and drawing up of the optimum schedule of their service. Thus at first the estimation of parameters ECM conditions is spent and join ECCM schemes, providing decrease in level of a interferences, then get out rational parameters of signals and processing devices NRS. In case of impossibility of indemnification of ECCM schemes in NRS special operating modes (type «burning», direction finding of a source of a interferences, is passive-correlation processing etc.) are used. Finishing procedure of management NRS is formation and service of turns of demands according to their priorities and the allocated time resource.
