Abstract:
Solution of optimization problem of synthesis of optimal spectrally efficient multifrequency signal is considered. Analysis of dependence of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) on various restrictions (out-of-band emission reduction rate, frequency bandwidth, BER performance, PAPR) is done.
Application of restriction on PAPR leads to reduction mathematical expectation of PAPR on 1 dB (for double length signals) and on 0.55 dB (for triple length signals) for arbitrary number of frequency subcarriers in comparison with the case without application of restriction on PAPR. However, resulting value of mathematical expectation of PAPR exceeds mathematical expectation of PAPR of OFDM signals by 2.4 dB. At the same time the required value of signal-to-noise ratio is not higher than 9.1 dB at the error probability of p = 10−4, difference at this point of signal-to-noise ratio, relative to the error probability of the OFDM signals, is not higher than 1 dB.
