The high-Q resonators on the surface transverse waves

Abstract:
The surface transverse waves (STW) find application in the high Q surface acoustic wave resonators. In article the review of the latest works in this area is provided. The transverse waves possess bigger speed, than waves of Rayleigh type, and for quartz this difference reaches about 60%, and smaller attenuation, as in view of absence compression components in a wave, and of losses of energy onto radiation in air. For these reasons of STW are often used in the gigahertz range of frequencies.
