Analysis of effective models of non-binary information channels

Abstract:
Synthesis and analysis of multi-functional digital information transmission systems (DITS) require mathematical modeling of the most critical part of these systems - information channel. Analysis of the common models СС led to the conclusion that the traditional codes used metric does not allow to fully realize the potential noise immunity of channel codes. A variant of the geometric interpretation of the metric, which feature is twice the distance between two different non-zero channel symbols of the alphabet and any non-zero symbol and the «foreign» character erase compared with the distance to the null character, which leads to an increase in the ability of correcting codes. Given the geometrical interpretation of the proposed criterion of effectiveness metrics introduced channel models on the basis of which a comparison of classical models of communication channels and to develop models of K channels.
