Abstract:
Aviation holographic radar planned review (HRPR) overlooks the surface in the area directly below the aircraft, or forward control on the course of its flight.
HRPR has high spatial resolution, reaching tens of centimeters, and the motion sensitivity to delineate targets with speeds up to several meters per second. Ability to work in a continuous or quasi-continuous mode radiation with low power ensures secrecy and immunity of the system.
This article describes the possible appearance and assessment of potential characteristics HRPR installed on the low-altitude aircraft carrier in solving the mapping and detection of moving targets.
The principle of operation is based on a multibeam antenna placed along the wings implementing a broad overview without scanning area in the front sector of the direction of flight of aircraft or directly beneath it. The transmitting antenna radiates a wide surface in the azimuthal plane radiation pattern, the width of which determines the width of the field of view. Overview of the entire area is carried out without scanning, due to the movement of aircraft. When receiving the reflected signals narrow beams formed fan pattern, covering the entire irradiated area.
Considered one of the variants of embodiment HRPR consisting of phased array and processor running spectrum analysis of spatio-temporal frequency of the received signal.
The examples given technical configuration and calculation of some potential characteristics HRPR installed on the low-altitude aircraft, indicate the possibility of mapping the surface with high spatial resolution at a low power level that provides small size equipment, its relatively low cost and the ability to design aircraft with conformal placement. Moving targets with the order of 0.1 m2 effective surface reflection could be detected by their velocities over 10 m/s. There are opportunities to reduce the minimum speed of the observed target by reconfiguring the system and structure observation HRPR.
