Abstract:
A network of a transmitting complex consisting of an active non-scanning array antenna connected to a passive scanning phased array antenna over a quasi-optical transmitting line is proposed for investigation of asteroid and comet threat by means of radiolocation and for monitoring of deep space. Due to the absence of the weight and dimension restrictions for the active PAA, the network provides a possibility of achieving extremely high values of power flux density in space. There are described some variants of the complex constructed according to the indicated network and based on the experience of creation and exploitation of an experimental setup containing an active array antenna with average radiating power of 20 MW in the centimeter wave band.
