Using LDPC-codes. Applications, advantages and prospects

Abstract:
When designing modern systems of telecommunications one of the important tasks is to ensure the high reliability of data transfer. The most effective methods of solving this task, you can include the use of LDPC codes, in the development of the theory of error-correcting coding in recent years has made significant progress. Antinoise coding or error correction codes, is a method of data processing with the purpose of solving the problems of maintenance of high reliability of their transportation by means of systems of transfer of digital information. Development of communication channels, including reducing the number of errors, as well as increasing the volume of transmitted information opens up broad prospects for further implementation and use of LDPC codes. Modern research has mainly concentrated on the creation of LDPC codes with improved characteristics and methods of their decoding. For such codes are also created and developed special methods of decoding and accelerated decoding with acceptable losses in the probability of decoding, and they show good results. Further development in the framework of this problem is working out the modern algorithmic solutions in the field of encoding and decoding of LDPC codes, and in the empirical verification of the results of recent theoretical research in this field. Development of communication channels, including reducing the number of errors, as well as increasing amounts of information transmitted open up broad prospects for the use of LDPC codes.
