The printed dual-band quasi-Yagi antennas

Abstract:
In this paper the printed dual-band quasi-Yagi antennas are presented. The proposed antennas are energized by two-wire symmetrical or coaxial excitation. The analysis follows the classical principles described by Hidetsugu Yagi and Shintaro Uda. These quasi-Yagi antennas has been developed using multi-step optimization and relatively simple scaling to take into account the supporting dielectric substrate with relative permittivity equal to 2,5. The steepest descend method is used for dimensional optimization of the antennas in both frequency bands. The rules of dual-band quasi-Yagi antenna pattern-s formation as well as the impedance matching conditions are considered. Experimental results verify the proposed approach. Presented antennas are completely compatible with microstrip circuitry and may found application in wireless communication systems.
