Investigation of one dimensional polarization gratings in terahertz frequency range

Abstract:
Polarization devices and in particular various type diffraction gratings are widely utilized in radio engineering systems for control of electromagnetic signals parameters. Either experimental approaches or methods of mathematical modeling are applied for study of complicated physical processes of dissipation of electromagnetic waves on such one-dimensional periodic structures. Frequency dependences of transmission coefficient of polarization gratings with rectangular bars are determined using numerical method of analysis in resent work. Distributions of electromagnetic fields near grating bars at frequencies 1.877-2.153 THz were also obtained. Found sizes of given structures provide set mechanical and electrodynamic properties of metal gratings which can be made using technology of chemical etching.
