Research of Possibility of Phase Distortion Compensation in Aperture of the Vivaldi Antenna by Use of Printed Lenses

Abstract:
The possibility of effective correction of phase distortion in traveling-wave Vivaldi antennas at ultra-wide frequency band, with use of printed lens is shown. The lens made of artificial dielectric is combination of electrically small vibrators with rectangular shape, located inside the aperture of slit of Vivaldi antenna. It is shown, that use of such lens does not reduce input performance of the antenna and can significantly improve gain and reduce sidelobe level in E-plane.
