Frequency tunable multi-element superconducting structure for implementation of the basic cell of material

Abstract:
We present results of numerical simulations of a metamaterial element (meta-atom) for two-dimensional planar negative media based on metal oxide Josephson structures. The proposed topology consists from two weakly coupled resonators: - magnetic dipole" and - electric dipole". The firs one is a superconducting spiral resonator with SQIF-structure (SQIF - superconducting quantum interference filter), and the second one - a comb-shape resonator made from normal metal film (gold). We show, that in comparison with ordinary passive resonators, the superconducting resonator with Josephson junctions (magnetic dipole) can be tuned by external magnetic field due to dependence of self-resonant frequency of Josephson inductance. The simulated characteristics of two-dimensional planar negative media are discussed.
